A classic symbol, reimagined in glass. Each American Flag is handcrafted from rich cobalt blue and red transparent glass paired with crisp white opal, then shaped into a gentle wave that gives the piece movement and dimension.
The blue field is layered over clear glass to achieve the proper color. The stars are created through a multi-step process: the design is sandblasted into the cobalt glass using a vinyl resist stencil, hand painted in white and kiln-fired to permanently set the detail.
Every flag goes through three kiln firings: first to fully fuse the individual pieces into a single panel, second to form its distinctive wave and finally to permanently set the painted details.
The bottom is carefully coldworked for stability while preserving the handmade character of the glass.
At approximately 11" x 6" it makes a striking freestanding accent for a mantel, shelf, desk or patriotic display.
Because each flag is handmade, subtle variations are part of what makes every piece unique.
